The Greer-Construction Company technical leader of Projects and Design is Dr. Don Dennis.  Doc holds a Masters Degree from Almeda University and a doctorate in Environmental Science from Durham University .  Doc brings a very unique and diverse background to the talents of the Greer-Construction Company.   

After serving as a navy combat medic in Vietnam, he continued his Navy service for an additional five years as a Radiation Health Officer aboard nuclear submarines.  It was during this period that Doc became intrigued with the relationship between a persons’ feeling of wellbeing and the effects of their immediate environment.  How better to fan such an interest than to live for long periods of time in an entirely isolated, encapsulated and atmospherically controlled environment?

2003 Skil Tool Fabulous Decks Grand Prize Winner.  Designed and built by Doc Dennis.

 The pre-formed Koi pond is surrounded by a pressure treated deck support structure.  Deck planks are Ipe (also called Brazilian Redwood) and the overhead beams are cedar.  The lath work railings and uprights are American redwood.   The deck is divided into three distinct areas by changes in elevation.  The sluice box design makes a perfect water fall feature.
